Winterwatch
Many of you will have seen the Winterwatch programme which was screened by the BBC on 20th January 2021 and related to Konik ponies grazing on a RSPB site. If you didn’t see it you may well be aware of the considerable attention it has received on social media.
It is our opinion that the programme was badly researched and was factually incorrect. As a result of this an official complaint was made to the BBC on the evening of Friday 22nd January by the Chairman. The submission of the complaint has been acknowledged.
The EPS continue to promote the use of Exmoor ponies for conservation grazing projects and liaise on a regular basis with wildlife groups and the RBST.
