Stallion List

The Exmoor Pony Society produce a list of all registered, licensed stallions, the list is based on the information provided by stallion owners. Stallion owners are asked to advise the Exmoor Pony Society of any changes to the list so that it can be kept as up to date as possible. The Stallion List Form can be downloaded from the website for this purpose.

Stallion owners are asked to provide the Exmoor Pony Society with details of the mares their stallion(s) have covered in any given year. The Stallion Covering Form can be downloaded from the website for this purpose.

The Exmoor Pony Society has a number of members who take a special interest in the bloodlines of the breed and are able to offer advice to breeders.  If you would like to speak to one of these members then please contact the Secretary (secretary@exmoorponysociety.org.uk).

In line with current guidelines from equine and welfare organisations, the Exmoor Pony Society would ask all its members and owners to breed responsibly.

Colt Inspections

In accordance with the Exmoor Pony Society rules registered colts aged 3 years or under, that have passed a veterinary inspection, may be used for breeding purposes.

It is normal for breeders to request that their colt to be inspected for their stallion licence in their third year and information on colt inspections can be found on this page under Stallion Forms.

All stallions and colts aged 4 years old and over exhibited in classes at shows run by or affiliated to the EPS must have been licensed by the Society.
