How absolutely fabulous to see an Exmoor pony on the front cover of Horse & Hound – Warrenmere Woodcock by Frithesden Lysander out of Barlavington Wagtail was bred by the RSPB on a conservation grazing site in Suffolk and forms part of the ongoing work by members of The Exmoor Pony Society to ensure the long term future of the breed. The late Pat McElligot who established the Frithesden herd in 1953 did a tremendous amount of work to promote the Exmoor pony to a larger audience and as a riding pony.
