The Exmoor Pony Society is a registered charity (No 1043036) and depends on its membership fees, services and donations to carry out the important work of ensuring that the Exmoor Pony continues to be seen not only on the hills of Exmoor but also around the world. The Exmoor Pony is recognised by the Rare Breed Survival Trust and since 1921, the Society along with its members and breeders have looked to conserve the breed. There are free-living breed herds on Exmoor, in a number of locations in the UK and in Germany.
